Two weeks ago, we released our wordpress plugin without much fanfare so we’d have time to iron out potential kinks / bugs that early adopters could face. It turned out to be a non-concern, because after 2 weeks – 1200 downloads and a couple of positive reviews later – the feedback we got was our plugin was ready for show time! So here’s our official introduction of the Zopim WordPress Live Chat Plugin:
WordPress users now have an even more intuitive (if it was possible at all) way of deploying Zopim on their site. Simply download our wordpress plugin! Activating it is dead easy as well. You can either use your existing Zopim account or register for a Zopim account seamlessly without even leaving the wordpress backend.
Once you’ve activated Zopim, our widget would auto-magically appear in your wordpress site. Of course at this point, the widget design would be the default one. The next step would be to style the widget and configure other settings to fit your needs specifically. You can do this effortlessly within the plugin by clicking on “Customize”.

Styling and Customization
Last but not least, remember to set Zopim up to work with your favorite IM network (Gtalk, MSN, Yahoo, AIM).
If you need to make additional changes or get access to advanced features such as Shortcuts, Departments, Chat Transcripts, etc.. you can still log in to our web-based dashboard using the same credentials.
Enough of us talking about it. Why don’t you write in to let us know what you think about this plugin and what can be done to enhance it? You can reach us via Live Chat or support [at] zopim [dot] com!

I'm surprised people needed a plugin for this. I found it was extremely easy to add the code to my wordpress site without any plugins. Of course I've been using your chat code for several months now, so I did have to fidget around with it for a few minutes before figuring it out. It was basically just copy and paste the generated code into the sidebar widget as text.
First, I'd like to thank you for this great service you offering for sites and WordPress sites users.
Second, I'd like to suggest two important suggestions:
1- An admin – for privacy purposes – should have a feature for a vistor disabling or enabling saving or re-sending the chat conversation to his email.
2- Providing a translation file with the plugin makes it easier for localizing it, wich it shloud serve spreading the service as much it could be.
thanks for the suggestions. we'll be rolling 1 out soon. as for 2, you can access our language libraries at http://translate.zopim.com. Zopim has already been translated to >20 languages by our users. if your language isn't available, or if you would like to make improvements to the translation, we will be glad to set up a translator account for you =)
I did try to add the widget as text into my wordpress but it didnt work! How did david do it?
Hi Bertilla, do you want to drop us an email regarding the problems you had? It's support@zopim.com
Hello,
does it automatically put in the informations if the user is already logged in by WordPress?
I tried it out, but seems to me it wasnt using those informations at all.
Thanks,
UltraSnow
@UltraSnow even if you're logged into WordPress, you would still need to key in your zopim user name and password (or register for a brand new account). Feel free to email support [at] zopim [dot] com if you still have questions, we'd love to help
Hello, Does it work even if the site is not built and WordPress
absolutely. we work on most platforms. do chat with or email our friendly support team. we’ll be able to guide you =)
I was looking to add this to my wordpress.com acct but it doesnt seem to work, I dont know if this just works for wordpress.org? cause my site is under wordpress.com. Make sense? I downloaded and followed the steps but i dont see it on the side of the page on the dashboard of wordpress.. any info on this would appreciated. Thanks..
@Jayles I’m afraid it’s not that straightforward on wordpress.com. Our plugin is meant for wordpress.org users who run their blogs on their own servers.
